Check out Manitoba’s Parkland Humane Society!

Published on June 25, 2013 in Blog

The Parkland Humane Society (PHS)  is a non-profit, incorporated organization run entirely by individuals either as volunteers or on the board who are dedicated to promoting animal’s welfare, dignity and protecting them from suffering.

PHS takes in abused, neglected and homeless animals to give them a second chance at life. These animals are placed in foster care until a permanent, loving home is found.

Our Hospital Visitation Program enables residents of some Personal Care Homes or Hospital settings within Dauphin and the Parkland to receive the benefits provided through visits from specialty trained dogs and their owners.

PHS would not be able to operate without our dedicated volunteers, members and foster homes.

PHS also has a Low Income Spay / Neuter Program and affordable spay / neuter regardless of financial situation!  There are a number of participating municipalities, including: Town of Gilbert Plains, R.M of Gilbert Plains, Village of Ethelbert, Town of Ethelbert, R.M of Grandview, and the Village of Winnipegosis.

It’s great to know so many municipalities are jumping on the spay / neuter bandwagon!  Congratulations on these progressive projects!

And there’s more!  With the help of so many wonderful supporters, PHS is building a shelter! They are almost at their goal…they still need $24,703.85 to complete stage one of the shelter. “Buy a Bricks” are still available for purchase as well as rooms within the shelter.  Help PHS reach their goal by making a donation today  —  thanks!!
